Seminario Cosmología y Gravitación: “Entanglement harvesting and quantum discord in alpha vacua of de-Sitter space”

We explore the alpha-vacua from the perspective of quantum information theory by a pair of static Unruh- DeWitt (UDW) detectors coupled to a scalar field. We study entanglement harvesting and quantum discord of the reduced state, which characterize quantum entanglement and quantum correlation respectively. Our results imply that the quantum entanglement in de Sitter space behaves quite differently for timelike and spacelike separations. It experiences “sudden death” for the former and grows for the latter as the measuring time or the value of alpha increases. For the quantum discord, we find no “sudden death” behavior, but it experiences superhorizon suppression, which explains the superhorizon decoherence in the inflationary universe scenario.
