With the help of mathematical games, we introduce the notion of Topological Invariants and their geometric implications. In a more physical context, we explore its use in the obtention of well-defined relations for black holes, such as energy and thermodynamic quantities. In Holography, we show how the addition of topological terms can be applied to describe transport coefficients of holographic fluids and entanglement entropy of the field theory living at the boundary of the spacetime.
